Who we are

AI expertise,without the expert act.

We’re Trent and Richard. Between us, we’ve built businesses, led teams and made AI work in the real world. We care more about a useful conversation than sounding clever.

Two perspectives · one conversation

The whole problem, in the room.

Most AI questions have two answers: the one that works technically and the one that works in your business. We stay in the same conversation until those answers agree.

Trent Peek, co-founder of Woodlark.

Co-founder · systems

Trent Peek

“Can we make this work properly?”

Trent gets under the bonnet: the systems, the data, the decisions and the governance. His expertise is the applied kind — he starts from the problem rather than the technology, and builds the thing himself, from the technical blueprint through to a system a team can safely be handed.

He spent his career in print and logistics, rising from business development to Managing Director and then Group Director at CCM Group, before co-founding WAF — which grew from nothing to £8m turnover in two years. Today he builds AI operating systems. He built his own consumer app from scratch; it now runs across 20 markets and 13 languages, with more than thirty governed agent roles doing the company's day-to-day work.

In the room: he asks what happens when it fails before he asks what it does.

One useful answer
Richard Ardis, co-founder of Woodlark.

Co-founder · people & change

Richard Ardis

“Will anyone care — and will it stick?”

Richard brings the human and commercial reality: positioning, culture, adoption and the conversations that make change land. He turns complicated AI choices into a clear story and a cadence people can see themselves working to.

He spent nearly two decades in advertising, branding and broadcast media, culminating as Managing Director at Global, the UK media group. His lane is what AI does to an organisation once it works: who has to change how they work, whether the proposition still earns its place, and whether any of it holds three months later.

In the room: he asks who has to change how they work, and whether they actually will.

Experience, not theatre

We’ve been on your side of the table.

We’ve carried targets, led teams, raised funding and made decisions with incomplete information. We know what it feels like when a clever idea meets Monday morning.

  • Built & ledBusinesses across media, print, logistics, design and technology.
  • Scaled togetherWAF, recognised in the FEBE Growth 100 and backed through five institutional funding rounds.
  • Building nowGoverned AI systems, customer products and practical adoption inside real businesses.

What we’re like to work with

No performance. No jargon parade.

  1. 01

    A straight answer

We’ll tell you what we think, what we still need to know and where we’d start. If AI is not the answer, we’ll say that too.

  2. 02

    Useful challenge

We ask the awkward questions early: what really changes, who owns the decision and whether the value is worth the disruption.

  3. 03

    Both founders, throughout

No junior team appears after the sale. The people you meet on the first call are the people who stay close to the work.

Why Woodlark is two people

A system has to work twice.

In the technology. In the organisation.

Trent makes it dependable. Richard makes it understandable, useful and adopted. Both stay in the work. That is how a promising build becomes the way a business actually runs.
